VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

 

Surrogate Parents are needed to represent children in Special Education programming. Surrogate Parents represent children who do not have access to their natural parents, in the Pupil Evaluation Team PET process. Surrogate Parents need to be caring individuals able to work with the Maine Special Education Regulations and able to attend PET meetings in the child’s local school or residential setting. Individuals that can make at least a one-year commitment to a child are preferred. Training and support from the Office of Special Services is available. Reimbursement for expenses is given to volunteers.
