Upcoming CCIDS Events

CCIDS will host VSA arts of Maine selections from A Matter of Perception 2006: Exhibition of Artists with Disabilities in the lobby of Hauck Auditorium, Memorial Union at the University of Maine, from Friday, September 15 through Thursday, November 16, 2006. The exhibit and opening are free and open to the public.

Working with Schools: The Role of the Foster Parent in Meeting the Education Needs of Children with Special Needs, a free workshop designed to give parents the tools necessary to build effective partnerships with their child’s school, will be held Thursday, October 12, 2006, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Saco. Trainers include Margaret Degon, of Maine Parent Federation; Cliff McHatten, Maine Department of Education; Peter Sabonis, Kids Legal Aid of Maine; and Kathy Son, CCIDS. Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, Healthy Environments: A Professional Development Opportunity for Family Child Care Providers will take place Friday, October 20-21, 2006, at the Kennedy Learning Center, Camp Kieve in Nobleboro. This two-day series of workshops is intended for family child care providers and is funded by the Coastal ACCESS Early Learning Opportunities Act Grant (#90LO0152) from the Child Care Bureau, Administration on Children, Youth, and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
