Prevention Center of Excellence
The Prevention Center of
Excellence (PCoE), a collaboration with Maine’s Office of Substance
Abuse (OSA) and the U.S. Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA), is devoted to advancing universally
accessible prevention throughout Maine and beyond. Initially, the new
center will identify communities in Maine that are underserved by
existing substance abuse prevention programs and will provide the
information necessary to craft prevention strategies relevant to these
communities. The PCoE will also address broader prevention and health
promotion domains and will develop projects that reflect the principles
of the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies in its
prevention work.
