The child's various abilities and disabilities will determine the individuals who should make up the transdisciplinary team that will conduct the assessment. The team should consist of a teacher of the visually impaired, a psychologist, an orientation and mobility specialist, and other specialists (occupational/physical/speech/behavioral therapists) depending upon the child's additional disabilities and age. The parents and the students general education teacher also provide valuable information.
It is important that all people conducting the assessment to communicate with each other during the assessment, it may be desirable to conduct transdisciplinary assessments for very young students for with significant multiple disabilities.
