A collaborative effort of the Maine Department of Education, the University of Maine and the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies.

LEARNS is a professional development and technical assistance initiative supporting Maine schools and educators as they build their capacity to assure that all Maine students, including those with significant disabilities, have access to participate and progress in the general curriculum, extracurricular activities, and their home communities.

LEARNS staff works in partnership with schools and organizations to enhance delivery of high–quality instruction, assessment, and inclusive education opportunities so that each and every student demonstrates progress and achievement of Maines Learning Results and be best prepared for quality after–school outcomes.
