Presenters:
Kathleen Platzman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and a member of
the Faculty of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and
Learning Disorders (ICDL). Kathy is originally from Maine and is
part of a transdisciplinary practice in Atlanta, GA, Floortime
Atlanta, that uses the DIR®/Floortime™ model. Her practice focuses
on both assessment and treatment of infants and children with a wide
range of developmental disabilities. She specializes in working with
individuals with autistic spectrum disorders and their families.
Dave Nelson, M.S., L.P.C. is a licensed counselor and also a member
of the team of Floortime Atlanta. Based on his experiences with his
own son (who is now a young adult), he changed careers to work with
children facing developmental and learning challenges. Dave is the
Director of The Community School in Decatur, GA, a school that uses
the DIR®/Floortime™ model to meet the needs of adolescents with ASD
and related disorders.
