Supporting Diversity in Our Communities is a training initiative project (TIP) designed to provide leadership to faculty who provide preservice education to direct service paraprofessionals interested in pursuing entry level support positions in early care settings, inclusive classrooms, and the homes, communities, and workplaces of individuals with developmental and related disabilities. Through graduate leadership coursework and technical assistance, activities are designed to build the capacity of staff development leaders and vocational/technical college faculty to provide personnel with state of the art, value-based knowledge and skills required for competent, entry level practice. Graduate coursework will be provided each Spring which will utilize an "inclusive co-instructional model" including UAP faculty and staff and individuals with developmental and related disabilities and family members as instructors.
