Partners In
Justice Project
~A Completed Project~
LEADERSHIP IN
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
The Maine Partners in Justice Team (representing
the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability
Studies, the Disability
Rights Center, the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the Maine Department
of Behavioral and Developmental Services) significantly modified a
curriculum originally developed by the Institute on Disabilities (UCEDD) at
Temple University under a contract from the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.
Foundation. The Maine Partners in Justice Team has delivered training to
more than 300 cadets at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in the last two
years and the training has become a permanent component of the Basic Law
Enforcement Training Program required of every new law enforcement officer
in Maine.
