Project Activities

Stepping Stones: Enhancing Quality Care for CSHN - A workshop on Medical Home, was held Saturday, October 25, 2003 at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta Maine. We were exceedingly fortunate to have Dr. Monique R. Fountain, Director of the Medical Home Initiative from MCHB attend the conference and deliver a keynote address. Parents and youth participated on all of the panel presentations.

YouthSpeak: What We Want Caregivers and Policymakers to Know presented at the Ken-Crest 2003 National Conference, March 2003, in Philadelphia, PA. A youth leader from Maine who is technology dependent discusses her experiences with youth leadership. policy review, and systems change. Her other provides a parent's perspective about systems of care and services needed for young people like her daughter. A service coordinator provides recommendations for systems change based on what we have learned from working with families.  Preparing for the Future: Roadmap to Success conference October 5, 2002. 3rd annual conference for teens and young adults living with a disability or chronic illness. Workshops were designed and presented by members of Youth Educators and Advocators of Maine (YEA ME), Maine's Children with Special Health Needs Program youth advisory group. Youth Talking to Youth conference, September 15, 2001. 2nd annual conference for teens and young adults living with a disability or chronic illness. Four Maine youth speak about their experiences living with a disability or chronic illness. View their presentations and read participants' responses to the question, "What are your wishes for the future?"
