The University of Maine’s Center for Community Inclusion
and Disability Studies has a full-time Research Associate I or II
position available in Inclusive Pre-K-12 education.
Appointment as Research Associate I or II is dependent
on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include providing on-site and
technology based technical assistance, community education, and
professional development to early care and education programs, schools,
and community and state agencies through mentoring, coaching and
collaborative consultation; engaging in research and evaluation
activities, including data collection and compilation, literature
reviews, and basic data analysis related to assigned projects; and,
researching, developing and disseminating materials on state of the art
and emerging best practices.
Knowledge and skill qualifications:
Master’s Degree in education, special education, early
childhood special education, or related field is preferred. Bachelor’s
degree in area listed above and significant, relevant experience is
required. Positions require excellent communication, organizational, and
interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
environment. Positions also require demonstrated experience working with
young children with a broad range of disabilities in inclusive early
care and educational settings. Appropriate background checks are
required. Positions involve extensive travel, normally requiring a valid
driver’s license.
Positions are full-time, fiscal year appointments
contingent upon external funding and performance.
